STS Payments (STS) is pleased to announce that it now supports Online PIN verification for contactless transactions with its G8 and Touchlink software and Verifone PIN Entry Devices (PEDs).
Online PIN is mandatory for new electronic payment terminals for much of Europe and although STS have supported Online PIN for EMV (Chip and PIN) and magnetic stripe transactions for quite some time, STS needed to extend this to contactless transactions to support those of its European customers using Verifone devices running the VIPA application, such as the Vx820 and Vx680.
Being a product-led company, STS looks to invest heavily in developing its high-quality payments acceptance applications and features in order to remain at the forefront of payments innovation, and this development for G8 means that it is now suitable for use in all European countries that require Online PIN, thus providing more support to our Partners whose customers may extend into these territories.
G8 is a feature rich, highly flexible payment application that delivers high performance, secure card acceptance in-store or from a business premises. It separates payments processing logic from an EPOS or business application and has been pre-integrated with a wide variety of PIN pads, business applications, payment switches, Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and acquirers providing more choice and flexibility than any other software product of its kind.
G8 can run as a data center or cloud based payment application; provides a global payments platform with a single API; can be installed on a PC, EPOS system, countertop or mobile terminal; and is PA-DSS certified and Visa/MasterCard, EMV and PCI compliant. It securely manages the entire payment card acceptance process and interacts with devices, applications and systems as required.
