STS P2PE Support Update

STS Payments (STS) has recently extended its Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) offering, introducing support of the Verifone  P2PE Toolkit as of August 2016, adding to its previous Ingenico OnGuard P2PE and MagTek P2PE integrations. STS are now able to provide support for Verifone’s P2PE enabled payment terminals for use in P2PE solutions should partners wish to use them.

Miura Systems

Miura Systems, one of the leading suppliers of some of the world’s most trusted mPOS Chip and PIN devices, has been at the forefront of changing the merchant and consumer experience. With a focus on unifying payments and the Point-of-Sale (POS) using simple and secure hardware solutions, Miura wants to revolutionise how and where customers pay. Miura partner with the world’s leading companies and its hardware terminals are deployed in global markets including retail, hospitality, finance and transportation.

STS supports Online PIN verification for Contactless transactions

STS Payments (STS) is pleased to announce that it now supports Online PIN verification for contactless transactions with its G8 and Touchlink software and Verifone PIN Entry Devices (PEDs).

Online PIN is mandatory for new electronic payment terminals for much of Europe and although STS have supported Online PIN for EMV (Chip and PIN) and magnetic stripe transactions for quite some time, STS needed to extend this to contactless transactions to support those of its European customers using Verifone devices running the VIPA application, such as the Vx820 and Vx680.

Using G8 with Ingenico OnGuard P2PE

G8 is STS’ payment application, which allows merchants and POS developers to accept payments from any one of many different types of card reader. G8’s simple but powerful interface hides the complexity of dealing with different card reader manufacturers, models and payment gateways, so that POS developers only need to integrate a single time, while offering maximum choice.

Growing importance for payments operational management systems

Retail merchants, and Payment Service Providers that serve them, are increasingly paying greater attention to the subject of operational management for their payment systems. Once the management of payment terminals was regarded as a boring back room task that focused largely on initial software rollout and device deployment, attracting little ongoing attention or investment. But according to Mark McMurtrie, Independent Payments Consultant, “industry thinking is changing with operational systems management taking higher priority”.

STS scores big at Partner Day

Following the success of last year’s event, STS Payments once again invited key representatives from its partner organisations to attend its 2016 Partner Day at Guildford cricket ground. Despite the occasional shower and disrupted play, attendees were able to enjoy a full day of top class cricket with Surrey CCC defeating Sussex CCC. It provided attendees with a chance to network with others from right across the retail technology and payment systems industries, while enjoying the hospitality that was on offer with plenty of food, sweets and drinks served throughout the day.

Contactless payments in G8

STS’ G8:Enterprise and G8:Client applications are designed to allow merchants to accept credit and debit card payments in a variety of ways – EMV (Chip-and-PIN), magnetic stripe, keyed entry and contactless – hiding the complexity of the process from the POS system, and providing merchants with a choice of card readers and payment system providers.

Here, we describe your options when supporting contactless card payments.
